Back in the day when I wasn’t reading labels as carefully as I do now, I definitely indulged in my fair share of snack food. And if a bowl of Doritos happened to be in close proximity, it was pretty hard to tear myself away from them. (Nacho Cheese and Cool Ranch especially). Now that I’m no longer eating processed food, I try to buy brands who really care about the ingredients they put in their products. And when a PR contact for Popcorn Indiana offered to send me samples of their new product, chip’ins, I was only too happy to try them. Chip’ins—which look and taste like a nacho chip but are actually made from popcorn—are a tasty addition to the natural snack food aisle. They come in four flavors—white cheddar, hot buffalo wing, sea salt and jalapeno ranch—but my favorite were the hot buffalo wing because they reminded me of the Doritos I stopped eating a few years ago. And the best part: a serving of 18 chips contains just 4 grams of fat and 130 calories. Add that to the fact that the chip’ins are free of gluten, trans fats and artificial flavors, and I was sold.
And you will be too, especially since the kind people at Popcorn Indiana have offered to give away a bag of chip’ins to two of MBM’s readers! To enter, leave a comment below telling me what your favorite snack food of all time is. Voting closes on Friday, April 15 at 6pm EST and winners will be chosen via Random.org.
